21 Days of Prayer

We would love for you to join us in 21 Days of Prayer! Each day you will receive a prayer focus so that we, as a school, can unite together in prayer on the same topics daily. There will be a kid focus and verse to pray for your children followed by a family or school focus. Thank you for partnering with us to lift up our families and school before the Lord! We serve a mighty God and are eager to see what He has in store for us as we lay our requests at His feet!

21 Days of Prayer Week 1: Day 1 – Aug. 23

Kids Focus: Salvation – Lord, may my child come to know who You are and accept you as their Savior and Lord. May they have a deep and personal relationship with you.

“Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.” Psalm 106:8

First Day Focus: Pray for God to align our hearts with the heart of God and do a great work in our lives during the next 21 days.

Day 2 – Aug. 24

Kids Focus: Wisdom – Heavenly Father, I pray that my child develops a discerning spirit and wisdom in choosing the right friends. Grant them a clear understanding of right and wrong
as well as absolute truth.

“So give your servant a discerning heart…to distinguish between right and wrong.” 1 Kings 3:9

Family Focus: Pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our homes; for personal freedom and deliverance; breakthrough in every area of our lives.

School Focus: Pray for wisdom for the board, administration, and development team as they continue to help navigate settling into the new campus.

Day 3 – Aug. 25

Kids Focus: Protection – Lord, I pray for physical and spiritual protection over my child. Let them keep away from those who would seek to harm them. Give them common sense and awareness of their surroundings. I pray that they would not give in to temptation and be led astray by false
teachers or bad influences.

“We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.” Psalm 33:20

Family Focus: Pray for marriages; strength and reconciliation; prayer for harmony in homes, freedom from damaging habits, freedom from debt; breakthrough in every area of our families and homes.

School Focus: Praise God for His protection and provision for Gloria Deo Academy. Ask for His continued blessing of our school. Thank Him for His provision of opening the doors for us to be at the Golden campus.

Day 4 – Aug. 26

Kids Focus: Excellence – Lord, give my child the motivation and desire to do their best without added pressure. Let them be alert with clear thinking at school, at home, and wherever they may go. I pray for diligence and not laziness.

“…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Family Focus: Pray for single parents and the unique challenges they have.

School Focus: Pray for the board, administration, and staff of GDA to do all things with excellence for the glory of God.

Day 5 – Aug. 27

Kids Focus: Spouse – Lord, I pray for my child’s future spouse. My prayer is that they will be surrounded by Godly influences. Let them have an appetite for spiritual things and to be continually growing in You. I pray that they will be prepared for marriage and that their goals and purposes are the same as my child.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

Family Focus: Pray for wisdom in parenting that we would know the individual needs of our children and train them in the ways of the Lord. For joy, peace, and endurance as parents school their children at home.

School Focus: Pray for protection, health, and strengthening together in the Lord for the families of GDA teachers, administrators, and staff.

Day 6 – Aug. 28

Kids Focus: Vessel – I pray that my child will know Your purpose for their life and will be used in a great way by You! Give them powerful testimonies that they may be salt and light to all people around them. I pray that they will walk closely with you and be vessels that honor You in all
Things.

“….an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” 2 Timothy 2:21

Family Focus: Pray for quality time together as a family, free from distraction. Pray for meaningful moments of conversation with your child.

School Focus: Praise the Lord for the churches that house our River Stone and Joplin campuses. Pray that their buildings may be vessels used by the Lord for noble purposes and that they would be blessed for allowing GDA to share in the use of their facilities.

Day 7- Aug. 29

Kids Focus: Bible – God, may my child fall in love with your Word and grow to find it more “precious than gold and sweeter than honey from the comb.”

“But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him.”
1 John 2:5

Family Focus: Pray for times to worship and give thanks to the Lord as a family.

School Focus: Pray that the board, administration, and staff of GDA would dive deeply into the depths of God’s Word.

21 Days of Prayer Week 2: Day 8 – Aug. 30

Kids Focus: Service – God, please help my child develop a servant’s heart. May they be the first to
say, “I can help!” then do so wholeheartedly knowing that it brings you great joy.

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” Ephesians 6:7

Family Focus: Pray for opportunities to serve together as a family.

School Focus: Pray for grammar age children to make lasting friendships; to have a positive influence with others; that they would excel in their studies and grow in wonder, wisdom, and worship of the Lord.

Day 9 – Aug. 31

Kids Focus: Prayerfulness – Lord, grow my child into the habit of praying without ceasing. In every situation, may they take their requests and concerns to you as well as intercede on the behalf of others.

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Family Focus: Pray together as a family.

School Focus: Pray for upper grades students to make lasting friendships; to choose their friends wisely; to have a positive influence with others; not to give in to peer pressure; direction for their future; that they would excel in their studies, stand firm in their faith, and grow in wonder, wisdom, and worship of the Lord.

Day 10 – Sept. 1

Kids Focus: Integrity – Lord, help my child understand the importance of truthfulness in every situation regardless of the consequences or rewards. May the promptings of the Holy Spirit help them choose to tell the truth, even when it is hard to make right choices and especially when no one else knows about the choice they made. May integrity and honesty be their virtue and their protection.

“Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.” Proverbs 12:19

Family Focus: Speak the truth in love to one another. Discuss with your children the importance of absolute truth.

School Focus: Pray for teachers to have a love and passion for their students; to have energy, wisdom, and endurance; blessing for their faithful service; to grow in their personal walk with the Lord. Praise God for providing and appointing godly teachers to each position.

Day 11 – Sept. 2

Kids Focus: Self-Control – Lord, help my child to be able to control their thoughts, words, and actions. May they stand out from those around them as they are alert and self-controlled in all they think, say, and do.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.” Titus 2:11-12

Family Focus: Thank the Lord for not allowing us to be tempted beyond what we can bear and always providing a way to out.

School Focus: Pray for administrators effectiveness in leadership; wisdom in decision making; personal and spiritual growth. That they would seek guidance from the Lord in all they do. For direction in upholding the school’s mission.

Day 12 – Sept. 3

Kids Focus: Courage – God, help my child to know that You are always with them. May this give
them both confidence and courage in difficult situations. You are the reason that they can be brave!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Family Focus: Pray for the courage to speak truth and take action to impact the community for the glory of God through service, leadership, and character.

School Focus: Pray for board members’ effectiveness in leadership; wisdom in decision making; personal and spiritual growth. That they would seek guidance from the Lord in all they do. For direction in upholding the school’s mission.

Day 13 – Sept. 4

Kids Focus: Missions – Heavenly Father, give my child Your heart for others who don’t know Jesus Christ. May they be uninhibited, bold witnesses for You!

“Declare His glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3

Family Focus: Pray for Christians under persecution in other countries.

School Focus: Pray for God’s blessing and favor upon GDA. That every decision would be honoring to the Lord and bring Him glory.

Day 14 – Sept. 5

Kids Focus: Perseverance – Lord, I pray that you help my child to not give up, but to finish what they
start. May their prize be knowing that they finished well for Your glory.

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. “ Hebrews 10:36

Family Focus: Pray that your family would be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.

School Focus: Pray for overflowing resources, that God would direct our paths. Praise Him for providing the resources needed to move into the Golden campus and into Joplin. That God would expand our borders and territory.

21 Days of Prayer Week 3: Day 15 – Sept. 6

Kids Focus: Humility – Lord, cultivate within my child the supernatural ability to treat others as more important than themselves. Remove pride and arrogance from their heart and fill it with gratitude for all you have done.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12

Family Focus: Read John 13:1-17. Discuss Jesus’s example of humility.

School Focus: That God would use Gloria Deo Academy, it’s students, and staff to further the kingdom and impact their communities for the glory of God through their service, leadership, and character.

Day 16 – Sept. 7

Kids Focus: Peace – Lord, give my child true peace within their Spirit. Free their minds from distractions and anxiety. Fill them with calmness and confidence that flows from You.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Family Focus: Praise the Lord that in Him we can have peace because He has overcome the world!

School Focus: That God would raise up strong godly leaders among our students that will impact future generations for Christ. That they would possess an unquenchable passion for the things of the Lord and have large spheres of influence.

Day 17 – Sept. 8

Kids Focus: Purity – Lord, help my child to understand purity and to base their decisions around that gift.

“… that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable…” 1 Thessalonians 4:4

Family Focus: Pray that God would create pure hearts in your family.

School Focus: That God would continue to connect GDA with new families and students.

Day 18 – Sept. 9

Kids Focus: Passion – God, give my child a passion for the things that you love. May they be bold worshippers and witnesses for your kingdom.

“I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” Proverbs 8:17

Family Focus: Have a family worship time.

School Focus: That GDA families would form friendships and bonds with each other. That families would enjoy community and connectedness with other GDA families.

Day 19 – Sept. 10

Kids Focus: Generosity – Heavenly Father, I pray that my child holds onto the things they “own” loosely, allowing them to be generous and always willing to share.
“Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.”
1 Timothy 6:18

Family Focus: As a family, come up with a way to generously bless someone together.

School Focus: God’s continued protection and provision of physical and emotional safety.

Day 20 – Sept. 11

Kids Focus: Calling– Lord, as my child grows in their relationship with you, help them to identify the talents and gifts you have given them. Help them to use these gifts and talents to serve others and to glorify You. I pray that You help them discover the calling that has been placed on their life.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

Family Focus: Ask the Lord to give you a clear vision of His plan for your family.

Community/Country Focus: Pray for city, state, and federal leadership; that God would have his way in our city, state, and country; that we would return to Godly ways and His Spirit would be poured out on our land; a call to repentance.

Day 21 – Sept. 12

Kids Focus: Contentment – Lord, I pray that you help my child fight the urge to compare and complain. Instead, reveal the secret of being content no matter what situation they find themselves in.

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13

Final Day of 21 Days of Prayer: Celebration and thanksgiving for all that God is accomplishing in our families, school, and community!
