Gloria Deo Academy See You at the Pole Opening Prayer

Gloria Deo Academy partners with parents in developing the spiritual life of GDA students. Prayer is an incredibly important part of the GDA school day. Students participate in Opening Ceremonies and recite Bible memory work and pray together every morning. On September 23, 2020, Gloria Deo Academy’s Student Leadership Team led a special time of prayer to kick off the See You at the Pole event. At the Joplin Campus, GDA 6th Graders led a prayer time around the flag pole for K-5th Graders. Here are the following prayer topics covered during See You at the Pole event at GDA:

Opening Prayer:

Matthew 6:9-13:

 Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Pray for students gathered with us today around the globe. There are some who are in countries where they have little to no religious freedom.

Isaiah 43:4-7

Fear not, for I am with you;
    I will bring your offspring from the east,
    and from the west I will gather you.
I will say to the north, Give up,
    and to the south, Do not withhold;
bring my sons from afar
    and my daughters from the end of the earth,
everyone who is called by my name,
    whom I created for my glory,
    whom I formed and made.”

Pray for our nation and government.

1 Timothy 2: 1-2

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Pray for our school – administrators and teachers. For God’s blessing and wisdom over those who lead and teach us.

Psalm 145:18

The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.

Pray for our families and homes.

Psalm 112: 7

He is not afraid of bad news;
    his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord

Pray for our friends.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Pray for those in the room.
