As part of our mission statement, we say students will be wise individuals who will “impact their community for the glory of God through service, leadership, and character.” This year, we have designated a day on our school calendar during which families have the option to participate in community service.
Wednesday, March 6 (M/W campuses)/Thursday, March 7 (T/Th campuses) have been set aside as “Community Service Day.” This is a no school day, and no work will be assigned at home on this date. This time can be designated for service activities and projects that allow students and their families the option to experience impacting their community for the glory of God through service.
Participation in the Community Service Day is optional, but we hope it will inspire families to participate in serving our community in various ways. If you are unable to serve on the designated dates, we still want to see your family in action! Please wear your GDA Lions spirit wear and use the hashtag #GDAserve to share photos of your experience.
We have included ideas for both “serving out” in the community and some ideas for “serving in” within our school community for those who feel more comfortable with that. Feel free to get together with other GDA families in your class or grade level to serve together or find a project that works best for your family or your timeline.
Sign up to help out with various projects here.
The link above will take you to several “Serving Out” and “Serving In” options.
Please see the separate email sent out on 2/28/24 for more details. We look forward to seeing GDA teachers, staff, and families impacting their communities for the glory of God through service!
