We relish the opportunity to celebrate your senior! Listed below are some of the important details for graduation and senior student recognition.
Senior Photos – Last year we staged photos at the school with each senior in their cap and gown. Haidi Edwards has agreed to take these styled photos for us again on Friday, September 6th. The photoshoot will take place during the Senior Guidance class.
Please include your child’s First Middle and Last name with correct spelling for the Graduation Program for Madison by April 2.
For the school yearbook, seniors will receive a half-page spotlight. The traditional school photo will not be included for the senior class. Please submit 4 photos for the yearbook (at least one senior picture, up to three “younger” pictures) and up to 50 words of congratulations/encouragement from the student’s family. Click here to submit. The deadline to submit is April 2.
For the graduation slideshow, please submit 10 photos for each student. We recommend sending at least one baby picture and one senior photo. Each student will have 10 featured photos, plus a collection of group photos after the individual spotlights. If you have additional group photos (field trips, history celebrations, school events, etc) please email Madison Dick at mdick@gloriadeoacademy.org. To submit your 10 featured photos for the slideshow, click here.
The first tradition is the Senior Breakfast with Parents and Teachers. This year the Senior Breakfast is May 3 at 9 AM. The breakfast location is TBA.
Parent Blessings – Parents will have 10 minutes to give a blessing over their child at the Senior Breakfast. This time will be spent between you and your senior.
Graduation is Saturday, May 10 at 2 PM at Second Baptist (3111 E Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65804). Doors will open to the public at 1:30 PM.
Table Decorating – Each student will decorate a table with their interests and achievements to be displayed at graduation. The tables are 6ft long and each senior will have half of a table to decorate. Doors will open at Second Baptist for parents to come at 1 PM on Saturday, May 10 to decorate the tables.
Decorating Caps – Feel free to decorate your cap. Obviously, appropriate decorations. If you have any questions about what is appropriate, please ask me.
Caps and Gowns – The school will have the gown for you so you don’t have to purchase one. The gowns will be turned in after graduation. If you want to keep the gown then the cost will be $30.00. The cap and tassel cost $20.00 and will be charged to your account.
Photography – There is a $15 photography fee per student to help cover the cost of graduation photos.
All charges will be added to your account and need to be completely paid by Friday, May 9.
The last day of school for Seniors is May 2.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Blessings,
